I’m Sherry, and I’m a 22 year old junior at Towson University in Baltimore, MD.
The title of my blog comes from both my first and middle name. I’ve never liked the name Sherry by itself, but I love the combination of Sherry and Rachel. Feel free to call me Sherry (22 years of living with it, I’d say I’m used to people calling me by my first name haha) or Sherry Rachel, it’s entirely up to you 🙂
I transferred from a small community college and my hometown, and I’m currently majoring in Psychology. One day I want to go to grad school and get my masters in Occupational Therapy. Yes, I realize Psychology and OT are two totally different majors — it’s a long story. Ask me about it 🙂
I’ve lived in Maryland my whole life (crabcakes and football – that’s what Maryland does.. name that movie) and I want to move out west as soon as I graduate, preferably California. Hey, a girl can dream right?
I’m not quite sure how I stumbled upon my first food blog but I’ve been hooked ever since! I’ve been reading cookbooks since I was a little girl and have always been fascinated with cooking and just food in general! I’m not in the best shape of my life (but I will get there someday!) so my blog is a documentation of my weight loss and journey of becoming mentally and physically healthy and fit!
I am very blessed to have a loving and supporting family – my parents (who I will refer to as Barold and Nan, not their real names obviously) are hilarious. They live about 45 minutes from where I go to school and I go home to see them every chance I can. My brother Ethan (18) is going to be a sophomore at the University of Maryland and one of my best friends. He is a clown and a ladies man, and is also seriously devoted to his fraternity. My other brother, Justin (16) is super smart, athletic, and is going to do big things one day.
I guess I should mention my amazing boyfriend, huh? Matt and I have been together for a little over 2 years and he is my support system, my rock, and my best friend. We met while working at Starbucks and have been inseperable ever since. He is going to be at Towson with me in the fall (YAY!) and is majoring in Exercise Science. He is also a huge inspiration for my blog as he is just as interested (if not more) in health and fitness as I am. He is my motivation to get in shape and be healthy!
Things I LOVE:
FOOD!, cooking, grocery store shopping, reading cookbooks, my sorority (you’ll hear me talk about it a lot), penguins, the color pink, Tinkerbell, the beach, zebra print, my job (I nanny for two families), being outside, going to and watching movies, music, pedicures, the Baltimore Ravens & New York Yankees (don’t hate) spending time with my friends and family, and much much more!
The blogging community has inspired me to get serious about being healthy and losing weight. Blogs have shown me that dieting isn’t about deprivation and has also provided me with so many delicious sounding recipes – I can’t wait to try them all!
